I have been finishing up the recording and mixing for the second Music Inrichment/Specialized Innovative Therapies Children's album. It plans to be another batch of incredibly catchy kids tunes with an even greater rock flavor than the first album (which I have no problem with!).
Recently, I worked with the guys in Almost Asleep at Lucky Run Studio. They were in the studio recording and capturing video for acoustic versions of one of their original songs as well as a cover song of "Plush" by STP. The group is Houston based (for now) and is recording with producer/egineer Michael "Elvis" Baskette to create an album that should cause a stir in the rock world.
On the mastering front, I recently completed mastering for a local Houston artist, Christy Craig. This was her first solo release and involved music spanning across multiple genres. I enjoyed the album's contrast and incorporation of so many styles and themes. Be sure to check out her album, "The Voyage," which can be found on CD Baby, iTunes, and Amazon.
On a side note, I am beyond excited to get married to my awesome fiancé Morgan in a little under a month. We are both looking forward to a short break from the daily grind and are elated about our future together!
Though it is holiday time, production has begun on the second Specialized Innovative Therapies album.
We just wrapped up drum recordings for the album in Duluth, GA. Other elements will soon follow and finish up in Houston (look for an early summer release). The album is shaping up to incorporate much more of a rock feel compared to the first album. Still, there are songs on the album that will show a much more eclectic side. All of the songs will again involve educational themes as well as positive messages for children (and parents) to listen to and enjoy.
I did a recent session and mix with Coozablack and Sin City for their original Houston Texans song. The band (and I) hope the song is picked up by the team and plays regularly at Reliant! The guys in Coozablack are always great to have in the studio and I look forward to working with them more in the near future.
In addition, I engineered on Coozablack and Sin City's latest EP entitled "The Takeover," which is now available through the band at www.coozablack.com.
The Specialized Innovative Therapies "Music In You" album is now available for purchase. The eleven song album is a great educational tool as it spans topics such as counting, ABC's, colors, and animals (just to name a few). Even though the primary audience for the project are the children Specialized Innovative Therapies work with everyday, we worked hard to craft the songs, arrangements, and mixes to also cater to the "older crowd."
The mixes were wonderfully mastered by Chis Longwood at Essential Sound Mastering/SugarHill Studios and the album can be purchased directly from Specialized Innovative Therapies. More information can be found at:
It was a pleasure working with Torey on this project and I look forward to the next album (which is already in the works)!
We are in the last stages of recording and mixing the Specialized Innovative Therapies album. The album is shaping up to include children songs in many different genres and styles. Catchy melodies/tunes, great singing, and education --- What more could you ask for? You can read more about the project here:
This is a write-up and video of a trip I took while a graduate student at MTSU.
I was part of a class that went to Kennedy Space Center in Florida to gather footage for a NASA documentary for Nashville Public Television. I served as A2 for the trip and also composed, recorded, and mixed music for the documentary.
