Chris Jordan, of the Talking Sound Podcast, was recently at Lucky Run Studio to discuss tips all musicians should know before going into a studio. I was again a guest on the Talking Sound Podcast, this time from Lucky Run Studio. This episode gives more insight into the recent move of the studio as well as a view of the new control and tracking rooms. Here is the single, "The Place You Left It," from the upcoming live album by Mystery Loves Company. This album was recorded and mixed by Alauna Rubin at SugarHill Studios. I really enjoyed playing bass on this live recording (I am in the booth on the right) and later mastering the album. Make sure to download the entire album! https://mysterylovescompany.bandcamp.com/album/mlc-live-1 Mystery Loves Company is...

Check out more episodes from the Talking Sound Podcast at www.talkingsoundshow.com and on YouTube. I recently wrote a page about mastering for Lucky Run Studio's website. If you have always wondered what mastering is and why mastering is important in the album creation process, please visit: Mastering Info.
I just came across this recording I played on while I was a grad student at MTSU. Originally recorded in 2010, it was released last year as a bonus track on "hepburns, part II." This is a great song (and recording), and I am happy to have played upright bass on this project!
Make sure to check out the rest of Aaron Larson's album, "hepburns, part II," available on Bandcamp. Music Inrichment's album "Ours To Take" is now available! To purchase, visit iTunes, Amazon, or SiTherapies.com. FLAC is available on SiTherapies.com.

It was a blast to put all of the vocals together including the groups of students singing the "Hey, Vo" background as well as the lead vocal by Katy ISD Choir Director David Lee. More info about this video and cause can be found here. I have been finishing up the recording and mixing for the second Music Inrichment/Specialized Innovative Therapies Children's album. It plans to be another batch of incredibly catchy kids tunes with an even greater rock flavor than the first album (which I have no problem with!). Recently, I worked with the guys in Almost Asleep at Lucky Run Studio. They were in the studio recording and capturing video for acoustic versions of one of their original songs as well as a cover song of "Plush" by STP. The group is Houston based (for now) and is recording with producer/egineer Michael "Elvis" Baskette to create an album that should cause a stir in the rock world. On the mastering front, I recently completed mastering for a local Houston artist, Christy Craig. This was her first solo release and involved music spanning across multiple genres. I enjoyed the album's contrast and incorporation of so many styles and themes. Be sure to check out her album, "The Voyage," which can be found on CD Baby, iTunes, and Amazon. On a side note, I am beyond excited to get married to my awesome fiancé Morgan in a little under a month. We are both looking forward to a short break from the daily grind and are elated about our future together!
